Here’s a round-up of highlights from August 2015:

Grocery

Last month, we celebrated Fiesta Mart and Carnival Food Store for becoming Blue Zones Project Approved™. The two stores are the first in the Fiesta and Carnival chain to achieve Blue Zones Project Approved status. Both reached the designation by completing the Blue Zones Project Grocery Store Pledge and adopting or supporting a selection of best practices from a menu of 35 options. Visit each of these stores to make the healthy choice the easy choice.  

Public invited to Blue Zones Project celebrations at both stores Friday, July 17

FORT WORTH, Texas (July 14, 2015) – Blue Zones Project^®, Fort Worth will join Carnival Food Store on NW 28th Street and Fiesta Mart on Eighth Avenue on July 17 in hosting community festivities to celebrate the two Fort Worth locations being named Blue Zones Project Approved™ grocery stores.

Carnival Food Store, 102 NW 28th Street, will host its event from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and will feature music and prizes from the LaGrande 107.5 street team. Fiesta Mart, 2700 Eighth Ave. will host its celebration for the public from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., with music and prizes with Kannon and the 103.7 KVIL-FM street team. Both stores, which cater to the Hispanic community, will feature Blue Zones-inspired food samples, balloon artists, giveaways and other family-centered activities at their events.
