It’s no joke! Rides on a Fort Worth Bike Sharing BCycle are FREE on Friday, April 1, courtesy of Blue Zones Project and the Free First Fri-YAY program. Free First Fri-YAY is offered on the first Friday of every month to encourage people to get outside and move naturally. Whether you’re an avid cyclist or just looking for a fun, healthy way to explore Cowtown, the city offers plenty of trails and bike lanes to explore.

To take advantage of the free rides, head to a Fort Worth Bike Sharing kiosk – there are now 56 across the city – on April 1 (and every first Friday of the month in 2022). At the kiosk, use promo code 92020 or use promo code 92020APP on the BCycle app for a free, all-day pass. To find a map of kiosk locations, go to FortWorthBikeSharing.com.

Since Free First Fri-Yay kicked off in 2020, nearly 700 free full-day passes have been claimed. April 2021 was the program’s busiest month with more than 60 free bike rentals in one day. With recent enhancement to the Bike Sharing program and a forecast of warm, seasonal weather, it’s possible April Fool’s Day will exceed the record. “In recent months, Fort Worth has added new bike lanes and made other improvements that benefit cyclists,” said Jennifer Grissom, executive director of Fort Worth Bike Sharing. “Plus, we just opened a new Fort Worth Bike Sharing station across from Dickies Arena, making it easier to enjoy all the Cultural District has to offer. More than a dozen other new stations are in the works." No foolin’, get toolin’ on a free BCycle on April 1!

Free First Fri-YAY dates for the remainder of 2022 are:

  • May 6
  • June 3
  • July 1
  • August 5
  • September 2
  • October 7
  • November 4
  • December 2
