Blue Zones Project Fort Worth started 2017 off with a bang with a significant “first” in January. Paschal High School was recognized as the first Blue Zones Project Approved™ high school in Fort Worth during a school-wide celebration on January 20.
Students were treated to a spirited pep rally, smoothies made by the Blue Zones Project Blender Bike, food from Down to Earth food truck, and plenty of natural movement. Special guests included FWISD Superintendent Dr. Kent Scribner; former NFL player Draylen Ross; City Council Representative Ann Zadeh; and FWISD Board Trustees Judy Needham and Tobi Jackson. In addition to students joining the movement through the Blue Zones® Personal Pledge, other best practices the school adopted included creating a student Down Shift zone, designating Blue Zones Project parking spaces, and adding a salad bar to its cafeteria options. Congratulations, Paschal students!Paschal High School’s Panther, FWISD Superintendent Dr. Kent Scribner, Paschal Assistant Principal Jennifer Fuller, and former NFL player Draylen Ross helped the school celebrate its Blue Zones Project Approved School designation.
