Join Blue Zones Project and Amphibian Stage theatre company on Wednesday, August 10, for a fun evening of visual art, music, movement, food, refreshments, and storytelling. It’s all part of the “Neighborhood LEAP Happy Hour” celebration for the recently unveiled art walk on Fort Worth’s Near Southside. The free-to-the-public event will showcase the app-based augmented reality walking trail exhibit that stretches along a 0.6-mile walking path in the South Main Village.
The celebration will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at Amphibian Stage, 120 S. Main St., Fort Worth. The event is come and go so you can drop in at any time and walk the exhibit when you desire; the start of the art walk is just outside Amphibian’s doors.
In addition to viewing the special exhibit with friends, you can mingle with some of the artists who contributed to the experience and meet other local artists who are enhancing Fort Worth’s growing art scene, promoting creativity and connectivity. Join some of the artists as they tour Neighborhood Leap, or explore the exhibit on your own. The event also includes complimentary appetizers, refreshments from Funky Picnic Brewery and Cafe, popsicles form Alma’s Paleteria, music by DJ Asa Ace, Blue Zones Project goodie bags, and opportunities to win door prizes from Blue Zones Project and Fort Worth Bike Sharing.
Before attending, you’re encouraged to download the free Neighborhood Leap app from your phone’s app store—then immerse yourself in the multi-sensory trail, which takes about 30 minutes and 1,750 steps to complete. Earphones or earbuds are also recommended.
While the event brings attention to the ongoing Neighborhood Leap exhibit and its artists, it also offers a way to move naturally, downshift and build stronger social bonds—all key principles for better well-being.
