Restaurants
Congratulations to the newest Blue Zones Project Approved restaurants: Café Modern, Fort Worth Market + Table, Terra Mediterranean Grill, Snappy Salads, and Plant Sub. With 20 restaurants now Approved, it’s easier than ever to make the healthy choice a tasty choice when dining out. Please join us for our upcoming restaurant celebration at Terra Mediterranean Grill on January 13.

Food Policy
Blue Zones Project is collaborating with the Healthy Tarrant County Coalition to launch the Plan4Health project. Plan4Health aims to increase access to healthy, fresh foods by funding innovative retail policies in neighborhood corner stores, and helping to launch produce pushcarts and a mobile market to serve the community. The grant, which is funded through the American Planning Association and the American Public Health Association, will build on the work of the policy changes introduced by the City of Fort Worth through the Blue Zones Project’s best practices in making Fort Worth a healthier city.

Worksites
This month, all six campuses of Tarrant County College are being celebrated as Approved worksites. As the first higher-education institution in Fort Worth to become Approved, TCC implemented a variety of best practices, including hosting engagement activities at each campus such as Cooking Demonstrations, Walking Moais, and Purpose Workshops. TCC will also launch Potluck Moais during their upcoming celebrations.

Individuals
This month the Neighborhoods Team celebrated Heritage HOA for completing the Blue Zones Project Organization Checklist. Heritage HOA is located in far north Fort Worth. The team is also working with White Lake Hills neighborhood as they move toward becoming a Participating Organization.
