To celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth we interviewed local well-being champions and leaders within our community.
Meet Larce!
Larce Bradford is the Lead Welder at Georg Fischer Central Plastics, and has been employed there since 2003. Although, he shared that his most important role is being a father and a grandfather to 2 grandbabies.
We asked Larce which of the Power 9 principles were meaningful to him, and why? Below is his response.
Family First – "That is the most important thing as far as I’m concerned." He does his best to spend most of his time with them when he is not working. "I came from a really big family, I’m the youngest of 18 kids. That’s probably why I don’t have a selfish attitude about me – that’s one thing I don’t have!" He said it's all about seeing that your kids have the same values that you have, to be the kind of person you expect of yourself - to encourage them to be, and to succeed. "If I can do anything, that’s very important to me." He also shared. "It's important to feel like you Belong - if you feel accepted, you'll work harder. You need Purpose, and to do something you might enjoy."
We also asked Larce to explain what #BlackHistoryMonth means to him.
He said. "It’s all about remembering things so you can move past them. If we don’t remember it, we won’t know about it – we can’t learn from it. People seem to not have sympathy for what they didn’t witness. That’s not something that should’ve happened, but it’s important to know that it did".
We are so grateful to have connected with Larce to help us better understand why well-being is important to his life radius. Thank you, Larce for being a leader within your organization! We also appreciate Georg Fischer Central Plastics for valuing your employees and worksite wellness!
