To usher in a Happy New Year, this article comprises simple and practical Power 9^® ideas for you to practice at your leisure – at work and at home. The Power 9 are holistic lifestyles behaviors that the longest living people in the world practice every day, and because this quarter’s theme is Eat Wisely, we thought we’d kick off this Power 9 series reviewing three of our favorite Power 9 longevity principles: Plant Slant, Wine @ Five (AKA Friends @ Five), and the 80% Rule (often referred to as “Hara Hachi Bu” in Okinawa, Japan). 

During the holidays we often consider gifts or an event for our team or department to show our appreciation, but a simple form of ongoing acknowledgement and recognition throughout the year—not just during the holidays—can have a profound effect on an employee’s morale, confidence and productivity, and can influence a positive company culture.

The RealAge Test is Sharecare’s clinically validated health risk assessment, offered for free as part of the Blue Zones Project program. The RealAge Test health assessment measures one’s biological age compared with one's calendar or birth age. After completing the 15-minute survey, employees immediately receive their personal RealAge results with their biological age. Simply taking the test helps individuals better understand how their behaviors and health conditions affect their overall well-being. Employees also get access to optional, free, and personalized online resources to help them make healthy changes that will lower their biological age.
