Lakeville community members and residents gathered to learn more about making the city a healthier place to live by considering becoming a Blue Zone city.
The idea to bring the Blue Zones Project to Lakeville was first mentioned in an email sent to Mayor Doug Anderson and other community members by resident Nikki Ahlgren on March 17.
The email stated Algren’s passion for the community and public health. She recommended the Blue Zones Project due to its focus on community health.
“Isn’t it great that we have residents that will step out and be bold … Nikki’s passionate about this and I’m grateful for that,” Anderson said.
