The benefits of incorporating a garden into one’s household or sharing one with others are plentiful, and many areas are starting to plan their own.
As shown by example from our Blue Zones centenarians, a garden provides its community with fresh produce that may otherwise be unavailable. Having direct access to and increasing consumption of fresh produce has shown to be a cross-cultural contributor to longevity, but taking paring in growing your own food is another well-being contributor often found among the people living the longest, healthiest lives.
