Main Street Bakery sets a Pay it Forward Program Targeting Hundreds of People in Need
By Blue Zones Project - Monterey County on Apr 27, 2020 1:26:13 PM
VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL ABAJO
Main Street Bakery and Catering is the first Blue Zones approved restaurant in Salinas. On week 3 of shelter-in-place in Monterey County, Main Street Bakery created a pay it forward program. People can call in and give a financial contribution that will be used to prepare meals for those in needs. In order to streamline food distribution to those in needs, Main Street Bakery is partnering with Blue Zones Project and The Change a Heart Foundation.
Luz and Marco, the co-owners of Main Street Bakery have already prepared 100 lentil soups that will be offered to people in need through the Change a Heart Foundation. The Change a Heart Foundation has stepped up during the COVID-19 crisis to distribute free food for people in need in Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties. Weekly it distributes food to more than a thousand people!
Supporting this pay it forward program is not only a way to support Main Street Bakery to stay open, but it’s also a way to help those who are struggling. To inquire about the pay it forward program and to make a donation, call Main Street Bakery at: 831-771-2253.
And while you are at it, why not purchase a great plant-slant dish to take out and eat home?
