Worksite Well-Being Program
While there is no ‘one-size’ fits all well-being solution for worksites, there are a number of initial steps that can be taken to ensure a successful launch and ongoing support for workplace well-being.

According to Laura Hill, Chief People Officer at Limeade, an employee engagement organization, 99% of employees who have both high well-being and support from their organization say their organization is a great place to work. With individuals spending about 40% of their week at work, employers are in the unique position to contribute to employee health and happiness.
Assess the readiness of your organization to launch a well-being program is the first step to ensure success. Questions to measure readiness include, but are not limited to:
- Do your leaders demonstrate well-being health and well-being traits?
- Do managers recognize the importance of employee self-care?
- Are teams encouraged and empowered to celebrate successes and cheer each other on?
- Is your organization currently investing in and promoting any well-being solutions or programs?
- Are employees excited to participate in social gatherings at work?
- Does your workplace culture support employee well-being?
If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, you are ready to launch a workplace well-being program! But it doesn’t stop there! It is also important to get leadership support before investigating what employer workplace well-being program might be right for your organization. It is important to work with your leadership team to evaluate the need and desire to support a workplace well-being program. The initial launch of a well-being program takes resources and needs to be considered along-side the organizational goals and objectives. A well-being program done right can improve absenteeism rates, create more productive employees and help manage employee healthcare costs.
