Congratulations WCIT Architecture & DTL Strategy Studio!
WCIT Architecture and DTL Strategy Studio celebrated becoming Blue Zones Project Approved™ worksites earlier this Fall in stunning fashion. But like the award-winning work both firms are known for, function and form reign supreme when it comes to workplace well-being.
Located on the 4th floor of the Imperial Plaza building in the heart of Kakaʻako, these neighbors co-designed a workplace well-being program they call E Ola, or “good health [to you]” in English. Few Hawaiian phrases translate smoothly to English and are used for this reason to describe concepts like holistic well-being whose meanings transcend Western definitions.
Interest surveys were used to give E Ola an idea of what activities and offerings to roll out first. Follow-up surveys thereafter measured participation and enjoyment levels. Both soft and hard copy flyers were used to promote upcoming activities.
Some of the many ways WCIT and DTL foster a culture of well-being include cooking demos, walking moais, onsite yoga with certified instructors, and hosting fun events such as Wine @ 5 (beer, and soft drinks too) pau hanas. These activities foster workplace friendships that we know strongly impact one’s attitude going into their workday.
