With summer providing ample opportunities to get outside and explore, why not take inspiration from Blue Zones Project and try new activities that encourage natural movement? Did you know that the food environment at work can influence your eating habits and the choices you make during the workday?  Lunch is not the only food choice we make during the workday; we are also influenced by foods offered at meetings, a company event, as well as snacks brought by co-workers, or offered in a vending machine or break room. The food choices we make can influence how we feel throughout the day, which can impact our performance. So, eating foods that fuel you, provide health benefits that keep you performing at your best!

Routine inactivity and repetitive motions can cause us pain, and as a result, we miss work and recreational activities that we care about. Pain is one of the leading reasons patients seek medical care. Whether it’s our backs, joints, organs, or other biomechanical aspects of our bodies we care about; proactive prevention is always a better approach than treating issues once they become a problem.

A moai, similar to the term hui in Hawai‘i, is a tradition among Okinawans that brings people together for support and fostering friendships. In Blue Zones Project^®, we support the launch of moais by bringing people together to meet once a week through a Potluck Moai, to support and share healthy dishes; or a Walking Moai, to talk story while getting in some steps.
