BRIGHT SPOTS

What's happening in our schools to support wellness?

Ho'omaika'i Wahiawā!

Congratulations to Wahiawa for becoming a Certified Blue Zones Project Community! As part of the celebration, keiki from pre-K to 1st grade had the opportunity to get on a balance bike, ride around, and learn about bike safety. Read more about Wahiawa’s accomplishment and watch their community recap video to see all the amazing things the community has achieved together over three years!

KKPCA launched the E Ola Pono Award to recognize schools’ efforts related to:

  • The DOE’s Safety and Wellness Guidelines
  • The CDC’s School Health Index Module 9 (staff wellness)
  • Preventative health, health screenings/immunizations
