Congratulations NALU HEALTH BAR & CAFÉ IN KAILUA!
Nalu Health Bar & Café in Kailua becomes the tenth restaurant in Kailua to become Blue Zones Project Approved™.
The restaurant celebrated this recognition by offering a 10% discount off fresh juices and smoothies to customers who visited their Kailua location on Hekili Street Friday, October 12 through Sunday, October 14, 2018. They are open daily 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Nalu Health Bar & Café opened in Kailua three years ago and sell fresh juices, smoothies, healthy sandwiches and wraps. They are known for their delicious acai bowls made with locally grown produce.
"Becoming a Blue Zones Project Approved restaurant was a natural fit for our restaurant," said Christiane Pfisterer, Co-Owner of Nalu Health Bar & Café. "Our mission as a restaurant is to help give people the fuel to live their best life eating healthy."
The restaurant achieved Blue Zones Project Approved status by successfully adopting best practices that promote well-being. Some of these include:
- Adding half-size portions of their entrees to the menu
- Created items for regular menu and kids menu that meet Blue Zones Healthy Dish Guidelines
- Sourced fruits and vegetables from local farms or farmers markets
"Being able to partner with a restaurant that already promotes healthy living and eating further helps strengthen our message of encouraging people and other organizations to do the same.
