It’s mango season and it’s also the perfect time to learn how to grow these tropical fruit trees and taste the many varieties available! Mangos have been cultivated in India for more than 4,000 years and are universally considered one of the finest fruits on the planet. They are one of the most important fruit crops in tropical and subtropical areas of the world and a growing industry in Florida.

There are a variety of mango-related activities and educational events happening in our area during July. Here are a few in Collier County to enjoy:

On Saturday, July 2 from 9am – 2pm, take your taste buds on a trip across the globe to sample fruit from the tropics at The Naples Botanical Garden, Tasting the Tropics event. Learn more about this day long event here: https://www.naplesgarden.org/calendar/tasting-the-tropics-2/

This year's Mango Morning class we'll be focused on hands-on demonstrations in the UF/IFAS Extension Collier Grove with Clark Ryals, Senior Forester of the Florida Forest Service. Location is 14700 Immokalee Road, Naples, FL. Registration is $15.00 and the class is from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
