We’ve long known that having a strong sense of purpose and a positive impact on others can add years and greater happiness to our life. Have you fully activated purpose and meaning in your life?

As a founding purpose workshop facilitator for Blue Zones of Southwest Florida, I’ve witnessed hundreds of people step deeper into their unique sense of purpose through these powerful two-hour sessions. They are fun, insightful, often surprising – even for those who already feel pretty purposeful.

That’s because being more aware of our gifts, passions, and values helps us more effectively harness our sense of purpose for ourselves and those around us. With just a bit of attention and intention each day, we can notice and act on opportunities to make a difference in small, but meaningful ways.

And if you’re deliberately engaging in meaningful acts of service or purposeful use of your gifts each day…are you feeling it?

Another way to deepen awareness of our purpose and optimize the well-being benefits is by writing about our experiences. At the end of the day, grab your journal and recall who you were with, how you shared the best of you, and how it felt to make a difference. The emotions associated with expressing care, bonding, achievement, and so many more feelings that accompany positive impact can help amplify the beneficial impact!
