Yakima is no stranger to obesity. Cue the Blue Zones Project, a well-being initiative whose goal is to help make healthier choices easier for communities. According to them, three out of four adults in Yakima are obese or overweight.
Dennis Crane who lives in Yakima said he sees how health can be a concern here.
“Obesity is a big problem for us, in Yakima. I believe having a focus on other options - our eating habits, will produce a big change,” he said.
