Klamath Union High School senior Serena Van Dyke took a break from picking up trash from Sugarman’s Corner on Thursday morning, holding up her cellphone to take a selfie as she and other students and staff posed with the downtown Klamath Falls backdrop.
The 18-year-old Van Dyke was one of about 3,000 students from Klamath Falls City Schools who spent the morning and early afternoon participating in the Sixth Annual Give Back Day. The event was organized by city schools, and since it started six years ago, operates in coordination with Blue Zones Project, which partners with Sky Lakes Medical Center on the community service day.
