The fifth annual Kick Start Douglas County program Wednesday night at the Nichols Band Shell in Stewart Park signaled the start of zumba in the park and other wellness activities with an enthusiastic crowd of nearly 100 people.
Kick Start Douglas County is an annual community wellness collaboration to promote exercise activities, healthy eating and living events, and educational classes. Wednesday’s zumba event, sponsored by the YMCA of Douglas County and Blue Zones Project-Umpqua, was the first of the summer-long series of free events that are designed to get people moving and make it easier to be healthy.
