Our view: State and federal assistance can be helpful, of course, and it’s boosting Erie’s comeback push in key ways. But the overall vision, energy and execution of turning a community around have to come from within.
One of the most important lessons being learned by Erie and other aging communities is that it doesn’t pay to wait for officials in the state and national capitals to swoop in with solutions.
