In the original Blue Zones areas, places where people are active well into their 90s and beyond, the residents have similar lifestyle habits. We call these lifestyle traits the Power 9. Eating wisely is part of the Power 9.
Among people who live to be 100 years old in the original Blue Zones areas, three common tenets were found when it comes to eating wisely. They stop eating when they are 80 percent full, they eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and they enjoy a glass or two of red wine each day with friends.
