People who volunteer have lower rates of cancer, heart disease and depression, as well as lower healthcare costs. They also report being happier.

Nov. 4, Blue Zones Project partnered with Habitat for Humanity to offer an opportunity for people to get involved in their community, connect with others and improve their well-being through a volunteer build day. There were 15 people who contributed 65 hours toward the construction of a Habitat for Humanity home in Juneau.
