The Blue Zones Project will launch two community-wide weekly walking events, kicking off on Wednesday, April 5 in recognition of National Walking Day.

The walk on Wednesday is at Steen Sport Park from 7 to 9 a.m., while the second event, “Blue Zones Walk and Talk,” will take place on Thursday, April 6, from 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., starting at Sugarman’s Corner at North Sixth and Main streets downtown.

“There is a high interest in walking groups in the community and we are experimenting to see when these events are going to be most successful,” Cort Cox, Blue Zones Project Engagement Lead said. “We want just about anybody that is interested to show up.”
