Up against a three-minute time clock on Tuesday morning, a local family raced through the aisles grabbing groceries at FireLake Discount Foods, 1570 S. Gordon Cooper Dr.
The shoppers were winners of a local contest to rid homes of leftover Halloween candy.
Blue Zones Project in Pottawatomie County held a candy collection drive in early November to take excess Halloween candy out of the community.
A grand total of 220 pounds of candy was dropped off at multiple area sites.
