For most, it marks a significant milestone in a child’s life. Their first bike. This milestone, coupled with the graduation to riding a bicycle without training wheels, means greater independence.
As the common phrase “it’s like riding a bike” alludes to, it is a skill that sticks with you for life. Still, as children turn into teenagers and then adults, the two-wheeled bicycles get traded in for four-wheeled vehicles and, too often, biking becomes nothing more than a childhood activity.
