BLUE ZONES PROJECT HOSTS THIRD NATIONAL SUMMIT
Repost from: Sharecare
Blue Zones Project colleagues, sponsors, supporters, and champions at Blue Zones Project Summit 2018
Nearly 150 Sharecare employees, community members and sponsors descended upon Naples, Florida, for the third annual Blue Zones Project summit on April 16 – 18. The event was held on the campus of Blue Zones Project Southwest Florida sponsor, NCH Healthcare System, and attendees heard from local champions Dr. Allen Weiss, president and CEO of NCH, and Naples Mayor Bill Barnett about what the initiative has meant for their worksites and community.
During the summit, organizations and communities were honored for their transformative work in the areas of built environment, food policy, tobacco policy and “places” wellbeing. Outstanding team members were also recognized in the inaugural Legacy and Culture Awards, bestowed in memory of and based on the key contributions of Blue Zones Project champions Randy Kehr, Dr. Stephanie Van Dyke and Bob Kane, each of whom passed away in 2017.
The two-day event also featured special guest speakers Dan Buettner, Blue Zones Project founder; Roy Spence, co-founder and chairman of The Purpose Institute; Greg Stephens, Associated Professor of Management at Texas Christian University; and our CEO, Jeff Arnold. Attendees received inspiration from Buettner’s happiness research; learned the importance of reconnecting with purpose thanks to Spence; gathered valuable communication strategies from Stephens; and, thanks to Jeff, celebrated the integrated vision for Blue Zones and Sharecare – and stay tuned for more on that front, because there are some exciting developments headed your way.

"I enjoyed meeting colleagues from different BZP Communities. Putting a face to those we communicate with by phone or email. My favorite memory of the summit......the All-Hawaii Team Activity on Naples Princess! Cheers!"
