Blue Zones Project offers numerous specialized certifications around sharing our story and facilitating our activities. Although not all team members are required to become certified to deliver our activities, you may go through the process. |
Blue Zones Project's training program is an approximately 200-hour training and certification program. The program focuses on role readiness and experiential learning and incorporates coaching and technical assistance to reinforce learning. Below is more information on each phase of the certified training journey:
During the first stage of your training journey, you’ll learn all the Blue Zones Project basics. For two weeks, you’ll get oriented to Blue Zones Project, complete self-directed e-learning modules, attend training check-ins led by subject matter experts, and complete the activities in this workbook.
Once you have the basics, you’ll come together with colleagues and partners from other Blue Zones Project Communities for a week-long training. During this training, you’ll learn what’s expected in your role and how to prepare for your first thirty days.
Following Connect, your training will focus on the tools and technology you’ll need. The trainings will consist of a series of virtual, instructor-led webinars with experiential activities, coaching, and technical assistance.
Now that you understand the Blue Zones Project basics and the tools needed, a Blue Zones Project subject matter expert will observe you and provide coaching on how you can make an impact.
At the end of your training journey, the Training Team will sign off on successful completion and demonstration of skills necessary for your role or put together a plan for additional coaching and training needed.
There are four primary learning paths that are a part of the training journey: people, places, policy and people leader. Each learning path begins with foundational e-learning modules that will equip you with core knowledge about the project. From there, you will begin your role-specific training which has defined competencies and advanced content. Competencies for each learning path fall into four categories:
