PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS

Let's Celebrate!

Achieving Blue Zones Project Approved™ status is a wonderful accomplishment. Congratulations to the following organizations who are helping to make the healthy choice, the easier choice in SWFL.

 Organizations

The Spice & Tea Exchange became a Blue Zones Project recognized organization on Oct. 5. According to Kayle Allen, executive manager of The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Naples, "We wanted to participate with Blue Zones Project to encourage wellness through healthy eating in our local community. Our mission is creating and sharing the experience of a more flavorful life."

"We are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the community and we are excited to be a Blue Zones Project recognized organization since our teachers and so many of our clients are committed to the foundations of yoga which align with the Blue Zones Power 9 principles” – stated Lahoma Nachtrab, Owner/Director of Love Yoga Center.

"Blue Zones Project has helped HBK employees ditch the soda and choose a healthy alternative thanks to our SWFL office implementation of fruit infused water available in the office," stated Mark Arnone, senior at HBK CPAs & Consultants. "HBK employees also participate in a daily wall sit challenge, which has encouraged physical activity and promoted discussion between coworkers."

Literacy Volunteers of Collier County wanted to become a part of Blue Zones Project “to carve a path for a wellness initiative for those that may not otherwise be exposed,” stated Christopher Nind, executive director of Literacy Volunteers of Collier County. “We wanted our staff, members, volunteers and students to be aware that even small steps toward a healthy goal can make a significant difference in their lives. This fundamental principle and philosophy falls in line with our adult and children’s literacy programs.”

Pelican Landing became a Blue Zones Project recognized homeowners association on Oct. 23!"Pelican Landing is an extremely active community with amenities like Pickleball, Bocce, Tennis, Sailing, Canoe/Kayak, a Beach Island, Fitness and more! The Blue Zones Project seemed like an obvious goal for us."

 Worksites

Despite being a homeowners association, Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club became a Blue Zones Project approved worksite on Oct. 11. By offering healthy options to their staff, they are improving well-being one employee at a time.
