PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS
Let's Celebrate!
Achieving Blue Zones Project Approved™ status is a wonderful accomplishment. Congratulations to the following organizations who are helping to make the healthy choice, the easier choice in SWFL.
"Life in Naples Magazine wanted to officially participate in the Blue Zone Project because of our shared values. The focus of the magazine is to be a resource to the Naples community on living and enjoying a healthy lifestyle. This includes the arts, learning about the people who live and contribute to Naples, out of doors activities, keeping physically fit, health care tips and helping others through philanthropic endeavors," stated Sandra Lee Buxton, Owner/Editor of Life in Naples Magazine.
Veterans Memorial Elementary became the newest school in Collier County to earn Blue Zones Project approval on May 14! Their wellness champion, Ms. Heben and their student Lighthouse Team (who help guide everyone in the right direction) helped cut the ribbon to celebrate their accomplishment. We can't wait to see all the well-being activities they have planned for next year as part of their WIGs (Wildly Important Goals).
Immokalee Foundation became a Blue Zones Project Approved Worksite on May 22! The non-profit organization works to empower children and young adults to change the course of their lives. Our students come from situations where English may not be their first language, where just getting through high school is considered a high achievement, and where a college degree and career are mere dreams. With the support of mentors, donors and volunteers, The Immokalee Foundation provides students the resources and the confidence to follow pathways to success.
